COVID & Fantasy Football

The 2020 NFL season has been a wild one; full of injuries to superstar players, Tom Brady not being on the Patriots, and the most glaring as of late, Covid-19. Without any form of a bubble, the pandemic has wreaked havoc on a number of franchises around the league. It postponed 3 separate games in Week 4 (last week) and the virus looks to be dimly looming large as we go into Week 5. The scare that has caused concerns over health and well-being of the players and their families must take a backseat to what is the most devastated, ravaged, and most marginalized group effected; fantasy football owners.

Fantasy football owners are an elite group of general managers who have the upmost care and respect for their players as you can see from examples here:

and when they just outright trade their favorite players with 0 regard for their lives:

It was clear to me that this 2020 NFL season was going to be a bumpy one as soon as it was announced. To add to the injury list that is a problem every year for people like Tik-Tok guy #1, the current COVID-19 pandemic was going to also force a lot of players to take time away from the field. It was clear that it was going to leave the already trivialized fantasy football owner in shambles. That is why I was thinking 10 steps ahead this year and drafted players that I knew were not going to get Covid.

Examples:

Not a single one of these guys are going to get Covid because they’re just some mid-tier players who will never be as good as the superstars in the league. They’re not out getting laid and partying while still balling out. Rather, they are hardworking, underperforming players who are upsetting a variety of managers around the league.

So, fantasy owners, please remember that if your players contract Covid-19 that it is 100% your fault for drafting them. You should simply have had the insight that you were going to be drafting a player who would likely contract the virus. Therefore, please do not cry about it on social media or in your group chats because I guarantee you that not a single person cares the slightest bit.

or continue to go on yelling at the clouds as the misunderstood fantasy football GM you are; just know we all hate you.
